19-Year-Old Lucas Beltran: A Unique Blend of Elvis’ Hair and Frank Sinatra’s Voice

Some singers take years to find their defining look, sound, and style. But at just 19, Lucas Beltran emerged confidently during the second night of the Blind Auditions for Season 28 of The Voice, showcasing an impressive classic crooner vibe. His polished style and vintage appearance instantly drew attention, leading him to find the perfect Coach to elevate his talent — a choice many viewers had anticipated.

How to Watch

Watch The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

Beltran wowed Coaches with a soulful rendition of Lou Rawls’ “You’ll Never Find,” garnering immediate chair turns from both Coach Michael Bublé and Coach Reba McEntire. Both were taken aback by the young singer’s mature sound and polished presentation, which included a sharp suit and a classic pompadour hairstyle. While the song originated from the 1970s, Lucas’s look and performance carried the nostalgic charm of the 1960s, evoking a sense of Elvis Presley flair.

In the beauty of these Blind Auditions, all four Coaches found it astonishing to hear such depth in a voice still belonging to a teenager. Beltran, however, explained that he’s always charted his unique path, maturing beyond his years in both style and substance.

Lucas Beltran: A Vintage Enthusiast

Hailing from Philadelphia, Beltran’s love for vintage extends beyond music — he’s passionate about classic cars as well. “I love classic cars. I love fixing them up, painting them, doing the interior. Each car has its own personality,” he shared. His Doo-Wop style is a true reflection of his aesthetic, not just reserved for the stage but evident in his daily wardrobe. “I’m just starting out. I’m 19, but I’m a huge fan of the classics — cars, music, jazz. I just think they have some special charm,” he elaborated.

His family echoes this sentiment. Beltran’s mom remarked that he has always been drawn to vintage items, citing, “Lucas likes old cars because he’s so mature for his age.” His father added a heartfelt note, expressing that it feels as if Lucas was “born in a different era.” The dreams of their family, who made significant sacrifices to immigrate from Peru to the United States, are beginning to unfold as Lucas steps into the spotlight.

Coach Snoop Dogg couldn’t help but marvel at Lucas’s polished appearance, describing him as “spooned and groomed, dipped and whipped, suited and booted.” Meanwhile, Bublé imparted wisdom gleaned from the late Tony Bennett: “If you steal from just one [great singer] you’re nothing but a thief. But if you steal from everybody, it’s research.” This advice serves as a powerful reminder for budding artists like Beltran.

Despite the admiration for McEntire, Lucas made his choice clear and seamlessly became part of Team Bublé, ready to take the next steps in his burgeoning career.
