Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport: A Celebrated Gem in Air Travel
Before officially retiring as president and CEO of Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) on October 17, Rick Piccolo achieved another milestone, as the airport was named the “Best Resort Airport 2025” by the editors and readers of USA Today. This recognition adds an impressive feather to Piccolo’s cap, marking a fitting pinnacle in his long and fruitful career.
A Noteworthy Recognition
On October 15, USA Today released its list of the Top 10 airports, with SRQ proudly standing out. Surpassing esteemed competitors like Palm Springs International Airport in California, Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport in Montana, and Hilton Head Island Airport in South Carolina, SRQ’s ranking speaks volumes about its service quality and the overall travel experience it offers.
SRQ’s Unique Offerings
USA Today highlighted the charm of SRQ, describing it as a “much-loved region on the waters of the Gulf.” The airport is known for its approachable size, boasting only 18 gates that make navigating through it a breeze. The article further praised SRQ for its diverse range of amenities, including various restaurants, bars, markets, and gift shops. Travelers can enjoy these offerings while waiting for their flights, creating a seamless transition from work to leisure. Furthermore, with nine car rental companies available on-site, SRQ caters to the transportation needs of visitors as they arrive in this idyllic region.
