The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is taking a bold step into the future of rail travel with the unveiling of a new prototype of coaches designed by Alstom. In August 2023, CTDOT secured a $315 million contract with Alstom to supply 60 state-of-the-art coaches. These new vehicles are set to become a vital part of the CTrail commuter rail services, primarily servicing the Hartford Line, which connects New Haven, Connecticut, to Springfield, Massachusetts.
