Chicago Fire Star Throws Cast Dinner in Anticipation of Season 14

Chicago Fire Season 14: A Warm Welcome for Sal Vasquez

Season 14 of Chicago Fire has ignited excitement among fans with the introduction of Brandon Larracuente’s character, Sal Vasquez. Before making his debut at Firehouse 51, Larracuente experienced a heartfelt introduction to the show’s core dynamics, thanks in part to the welcoming gestures of veterans on set.

How to Watch

Catch the thrilling Season 14 premiere of Chicago Fire on Wednesday, October 1, at 9/8c on NBC and Peacock.

A Family Atmosphere

In a recent interview with NBC Insider, Larracuente shared one of his fondest memories since joining the cast: a dinner hosted by David Eigenberg, known for his role as the beloved veteran firefighter Chris Herrmann. Eigenberg took the initiative to organize a cast dinner, fostering a sense of community among current and former cast members.

“It’s been nice; David and his wife set up a big cast dinner,” Larracuente said. “What was really nice was it wasn’t just the current cast; there were some cast members from previous seasons. It was nice to see how well these people got along.”

This camaraderie is at the heart of Chicago Fire, a series celebrated for depicting the tight-knit bonds among its characters. Once you’re part of Firehouse 51, you’re always part of it, and Larracuente’s early experiences have reinforced that notion.

“One of the best parts was I invited my wife, and they all met her,” he remarked. “It just feels like a family.”

Overcoming Jitters

Stepping into a long-running series can be intimidating, but Larracuente credits Eigenberg’s thoughtful welcome for alleviating his initial nerves. The spirit of teamwork and shared purpose on set made the transition smoother.

“I didn’t struggle too much with jitters because of their kindness,” he explained. “It’s a good time on set. It definitely feels like a family. The core has been together for 13 years now, but they keep it light. When it’s time to work, they are prepared and show up ready.”

For Larracuente, that balance between levity and professionalism has made adapting to the show effortless. “I think keeping it a bit light on set translates into good work. When you like the people you’re working with, it makes your job easier.”

The Core of Chicago Fire

As Larracuente joins the ranks of the series, he has already forged connections that will surely enhance his portrayal of Sal Vasquez. The sense of belonging and support from his fellow cast members sets the stage for an engaging addition to the show’s ensemble.

“Everyone’s been great,” he concludes, recognizing the impactful bonds within Firehouse 51. “They’ve all done their part equally in helping me adjust to this new experience.”

Fans are encouraged not to miss the season premiere of Chicago Fire, where they can witness the exciting introduction of Sal Vasquez and the continuing adventures of the firefighters of Chicago.
