Registration Open for Children’s Christmas Parade
As the holiday season approaches, excitement builds in Lompoc with the upcoming 2025 Lompoc Valley Children’s Christmas Parade, themed “A Hometown Christmas.” This cherished community event promises a delightful evening filled with festive cheer and spectacular displays.
Key Details
This year’s parade will take place on Friday, December 5, starting at 6 p.m. Participants are encouraged to don their holiday best and show off their creativity through floats and displays. Whether you’re an individual, part of a group, or representing a business, everyone is welcome to join in the festivities.
Application Process
To participate, interested parties must complete an application and submit it to the Anderson Recreation Center located at 125 West Walnut Ave. The deadline for submissions is Monday, November 17. The assembly point for the parade will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the Union Bank Parking lot, found at the corner of Pine Avenue and “H” Street.
Parade Route
At 6 p.m., the parade will roll out, making its way south along “H” Street, turning west onto Ocean Avenue, and continuing south to “I” Street. The entire parade is expected to last approximately one hour, offering viewers a chance to enjoy the festive spirit of the season.
Post-Parade Festivities
After the parade, participants and spectators are invited to gather at Centennial Park, located at the corner of Cypress and H streets. This community gathering will feature the announcement of parade winners, the lighting of the community Christmas Tree, and a delightful opportunity to visit with Santa Claus.

City Seeks Input on Annual Consolidated Performance and Evaluation Report
In addition to festive celebrations, the City of Lompoc is actively engaging its community with the release of the 2024-25 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER). This draft report details activities funded by federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025.
Public Review and Comment
Residents are encouraged to participate in the public review process during a 15-day comment period, running from September 24 through October 8. This is an excellent opportunity for community members to share their insights and feedback on the achievements made possible by CDBG funds.

Dia de los Muertos Event Changes Locations
As the rich traditions of Día de los Muertos approach, the Lompoc Unified School District is set to host its annual celebration in a new venue this year. Lompoc High School will serve as the venue for this vibrant family-friendly event on Sunday, November 2, from 1-6 p.m.
What to Expect
Attendees can look forward to various engaging activities including traditional altars, student displays, live entertainment, face painting, a Catrina contest, arts and crafts, food booths, and Pan de Muerto served alongside hot chocolate. This celebration serves as a poignant reminder of love, remembrance, and the celebration of life, as noted by Assistant Superintendent Brian Jaramillo.
Participation Opportunities
Community organizations will also host information tables and activities throughout the event. Those interested in presenting an altar, providing an information table, or participating in contests must register by October 17 through the provided registration link.
SB Vintners Festival Slated for Oct. 18
Wine enthusiasts and food lovers alike will gather for the 41st annual Santa Barbara Vintners Festival on Saturday, October 18, held at Vega Vineyard & Farm in Buellton. This year’s festival will celebrate the remarkable winemakers, wines, food, and the vibrant community of Santa Barbara County.
