Amid the chaos of political turmoil, layoffs, and an ever-contentious social climate, there emerged a refreshing undercurrent of romance and warmth. Black women were loved loud and clear, shattering long-standing myths of unworthiness surrounding their experiences in love.

From the very start of the year, the engagement of model Winnie Harlow to NBA player Kyle Kuzma set the stage. Their tropical engagement was nothing short of something you’d see in a romantic movie—an idyllic scene filled with promise and joy.
