The Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) – Tuscaloosa County Chapter will host three significant events on Monday, January 19, in observance of its annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Day. 2026 SCLC of Tuscaloosa County Hosts MLK Unity Day Events
MLK Unity Day Breakfast
The day will commence with the MLK Unity Day Breakfast at 8 a.m. at Beulah Baptist Church, located at 3100 25th Street in Tuscaloosa. This breakfast offers a time for fellowship, honoring Dr. King’s life and contributions to the civil rights movement. It promises a nourishing meal enriched by meaningful conversations and insights.
VIP tables are available for $250, accommodating those wishing to show greater support for the cause, while general seating tickets are priced at $25. Due to limited table availability, those eager to attend are encouraged to purchase tickets from members of the SCLC—Tuscaloosa County Chapter.
MLK Unity March
This march is a powerful reminder of Dr. King’s vision for a united community and serves to inspire collective action. It not only celebrates his legacy but also emphasizes the importance of continued efforts towards social justice and equality.
Mass Rally
The afternoon will culminate with a mass rally scheduled for 5 p.m. at the historic First African Baptist Church, located at 2621 Stillman Blvd, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401.
